Acts 4 Love Provides Comfort and Encouragement to Children Facing Cancer Treatment

Children undergoing cancer treatment often face difficult days filled with medical procedures, uncertainty, and discomfort. In Ashland County, one local nonprofit is helping bring comfort and encouragement to these young patients through a unique volunteer-driven program.

Thanks to a recent grant from the Ashland County Community Foundation via the Women's Fund, Acts 4 Love was able to purchase the supplies needed to create colorful and comforting cancer capes for children receiving treatment. The project combines community support, volunteer service, and practical encouragement for families facing challenging circumstances.

Local Volunteers Making a Difference in Ashland, Ohio

The cancer capes are carefully designed and sewn by volunteers at New Life Church in Ashland. Each cape is created with the goal of helping children feel special, brave, and supported during their cancer journey.

Volunteers donate their time and talents to sew the capes, creating a meaningful way to serve local families and give back to the community. The finished capes are distributed to Akron Children's Hospital and other organizations that serve children throughout Ashland County and surrounding communities.
