A Local Nonprofit Serving Through Compassion and Care

ACTS 4 Love is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Ashland, Ohio, dedicated to providing handmade comfort items to children and adults facing medical challenges. Through volunteers and community support, we help bring encouragement, dignity, and emotional support during treatment and recovery.

Our mission is simple: to serve local families through practical acts of love that make difficult moments easier to carry.

How ACTS 4 Love Began

ACTS 4 Love began in March 2023 with a request from a young girl named Emma, who asked for a superhero cape to help her “fight the bad guys” during a difficult time in her life.

When asked what color she wanted, Emma replied, “Purple is a power color to fight bad guys.”

With no existing pattern available, volunteers created a design from scratch using handmade templates and measurements from local children. Emma received her cape and loved it.

What started as one act of kindness quickly grew into a larger community effort.

Soon after, additional requests followed—including a dragon cape for a child named Michael during cancer treatment. Eventually, Akron Children’s Hospital reached out asking if capes could be created for patients.

What We Do

Acts 4 Love creates handmade comfort items for individuals experiencing medical treatment and recovery. Each item is designed to provide emotional encouragement and practical support.

Volunteer-Led in Ashland, Ohio

ACTS 4 Love is powered entirely by volunteers and community support. Most work takes place at New Life Church in Ashland, Ohio, where volunteers gather to sew, assemble, and prepare items for distribution.

We meet twice each month:

First Tuesday: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Fourth Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM
